About the role
Time Out Media is looking for a dynamic and creative Social Media Manager to lead our social media efforts in Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the overall social media strategy to drive follower growth, brand awareness, and engagement on our Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok and other social media channels. This role is responsible for the social channels of Time Out Sydney, Melbourne and Hong Kong and Singapore accounts. You will work closely with editorial and commercial teams to ensure a cohesive social media presence that resonates with our audience.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy to increase follower growth, engagement, brand awareness and website traffic.
Manage and develop a social media content calendar to ensure timely and relevant posts in an organised and visible manner.
Create and curate high-quality, engaging content for all of Time Out APAC's social channels, including written posts, images and videos.
Schedule and optimize the posting of social media content, ensuring a consistent and engaging presence.
Up-to-date with online accessibility requirements, laws, technology updates and best practices on social media
Lead and optimize paid campaign strategy to achieve client and commercial goals.
Lead all social media initiatives, including brainstorming, presenting, filming, and editing video content.
Generate social media reports and audits to evaluate performance and adjust the strategy accordingly, with a strong focus on data-driven decision-making.
Develop a pipeline of KOL collaborators and partnerships to enhance content and engagement.
Curate User-Generated Content (UGC) to foster community engagement and brand loyalty.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including editorial, creative, commercial, and events teams.
Manage our two Social Media Executive in Australia and Asia.
Skills & Experience
At least 5 years of experience in social media management, preferably in the media or entertainment industry.
Strong understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and trends.
Understanding of Chinese social media platforms (WeChat, XiaoHongShu, Weibo etc) is a bonus.
Proficiency in content creation, including graphic design and video production/editing.
Demonstrated success in driving follower growth and engagement.
Experience in managing and optimizing paid social media campaigns.
Strong data analysis and reporting skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Creative thinker with a passion for social media and city life.
